Raw Brush is an art sourcing atelier that seeks out pieces with character, history, craftsmanship, and that unnameable quality the French call je ne sais quoi, or “that little something you can’t quite explain.” Our collection is sourced primarily from France, with select discoveries from elsewhere in Europe.

Our aesthetic is rooted in the spirit of the modern Parisian apartment: artful, eclectic, and deeply intentional. We love the tension between old and new, where an 18th-century oil portrait can live beautifully alongside clean-lined contemporary design. Think patina, poetry, and understated luxury.

At Raw Brush, art is not an accessory. It is what gives a room life, depth, identity, and allure. It brings joie de vivre, or “the joy of living,” into the home. More than collecting art, Raw Brush is about living beautifully, enjoying a good life, and cherishing every moment.

Our Philosophy

We believe a home becomes beautiful through layers: memory, instinct, contrast, and pieces with real character.

Old paintings bring all of that with them. Their worn corners, faded passages, craquelure, and history give a room depth that cannot be manufactured. More than that, they remind us that beauty is rarely about perfection, and that imperfections do not make something less worthy of love.

Meet the Founder

Audrey Chou founded Raw Brush after a turning point that made her reconsider what she wanted her life to look like. After years in the corporate world, and years of returning to art and antiques whenever she could, a layoff became the push that turned a long-held instinct into something real.

What had once lived on the side, browsing paintings between meetings, collecting pieces slowly, imagining a different pace and a different future, became the beginning of Raw Brush.
