A richly painted 19th-century floral still life, dense with roses and foliage against a deep, dark ground. The blossoms feel luminous, and the composition adds drama to the wall in the most satisfying way. It’s essentially flowers and leaves, layered and abundant, like the painter couldn’t bear to edit the beauty down.
